First Seattle Art Fair is here, this Friday thru Sunday at Century link field. Over 50 galleries from all over the world and locally are presenting their trending artists’ works.
High quality works are presented, Kristie, Vikram, Gary B and me went for the opening last night and the venue was packed! I was excited to see works by Collins and Asseal represented there. Amazing realism figurative works are making a come back, in NY mostly 😛 Also there were a couple Andrew Wythe paintings! The painting with light crack thru is pretty awesome too! You have to go see it yourself!

I am making a commitment to post more on EAC studio blog so as to initiate some discussion related to art and creativity. Over the last couple months, though I have not been posting much, I have done a lot of thinking about the nature of what we do, art and everything around it. I have to stress that I am very thankful for the art community and support we have at EAC. I come to a new understanding as to why community is so important to artists, or musicians or any creative minds. It keeps us moving and feel connected! So let me give a big THANK YOU here to all of you who came to paint and draw at EAC, who read this blog, who came for the model sessions or book club or simply come enjoy the shows we put up. Thank you, Thank you!

My art background based on Traditional Russian Art School. I received my BA in Fine Art from Penza College of Fine Arts and then continued my education and completed my Masters in Moscow’s Stroganoff Art Academy. To understand a different teaching approaches and methods I spend time studying Classical Italian Old Masters taught in the Florence Art Academy, French Classical Art technics taught in Grand Central Academy and copying Old Masters at the Metropolitan Museum.
As an art instructor I combine all this training and knowledge to bring the best of the traditional classical Russian, Italian and French art schools.
The classes I offer are perfect for those who:
– wanted to learn how to draw and don’t know where to start
– always wanted to learn to draw, but lack the confidence in their abilities – want to develop their skills which are necessary to learn before they express their thoughts and ideas on paper or canvas.
I approach each student individually. I offer painting , drawing or Old Masters copy studies based on students interest and skills. It is not unusual that small group is broken into sections where students work on assignments of varying complexity.
No matter whether you want to become a professional or improve on your skills, you will learn the fundamental techniques and will see the tremendous improvement.

Thank you all for coming to Olga Kiehn’s painting demo. Kiehn did a wonderful portrait of our model Danielle in natural light setting and it was impressive to see how she pretty much get the whole painting done in an hour and a half of posing. Here are some photos from the demo. Kiehn will be teaching the grand ateliers tradition of Russia, Italy and French training artists with strong artistic foundation at EAC studio beginning January 2015. Please stay tune or contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in getting more info.
