The Goal:

  • Personal Project: Create your very own 1-minute (minimum) 
animation – bring your vision to life!
  • Group Project: Collaborate with others to make a 4-minute (minimum) animation where each student creates their own character.

Students must bring their own laptop or tablet to create their animated movies.

Start your digital art journey with a course designed for true beginners who want to learn Procreate with clarity, confidence, and a sense of creative play. Over 4 online lessons, you’ll build essential skills step by step – from understanding brushes and layers to creating expressive color, lighting, characters and simple scenes. Each lesson includes a focused exercise that helps you practice immediately, so you’re not just watching – you’re making.
By the end of the 4 weeks, you’ll have a small collection of finished pieces, a solid grasp of Procreate’s core tools, and the foundations you need to continue growing your own detailed, personal art style.

What You Will Learn:
* How to navigate Procreate with ease – brushes, layers, gestures, and the essential tool
* How to make confident lines and shapes using construction forms, and simple drawing techniques
* How to build color palettes and understand value, contrast, and mood
* How to shade and paint simple objects with soft and hard edges, highlights, and believable light
* How to compose small illustrations using thumbnails, focal points, and visual flow
* How to add texture and depth with grain, overlays, and brush variations
* How to create a finished mini-project that brings together color, lighting and texture
