Amazing artist Tony Ryder was in town teaching a workshop at Gage and I am very lucky to be able to spend some time with him. Tony is one of the best artist and teacher there is! Tony Ryder has his own art school in Santa Fe. I think I paint and draw better with him in the studio. Check him out!!www.theryderstudio.com
Seattle art Museum also had a good show of impressionism grand masters works: Fantin Latour, Vuillard, Bonnard…. It was a fun show and worth seeing 🙂

EVERYDAY
Everyday was my idea for these, three hour, paintings. I wanted them to be fresh quick and lively. I chose subjects that were on hand with little manipulation. I was more interested in my experience and quick color application then police report accuracy. Painting outside with the natural light made the whole process quite exciting to me because of the movement and change of intensity of the light. Each time I was capturing a living moment. The beginning was a mixture of childlike zeal and anticipation to interpret what I see with my brush and paint. – Laura Grover
Saturday at Seattle Art Fair was nice as I get to see so many artist friends whom I have not seen for so long! Its still pack with gallery goers and I saw more red dots! I get to revisit so of my favorite works of art at Forum Gallery, Adelson and Exhibit 101. For more cutting edge art works, we have drone paintings, clear gel collage figure, cool video art which all challenge the notion of what is art?
