Everyday – Laura Grover

EVERYDAY
Everyday was my idea for these, three hour, paintings. I wanted them to be fresh quick and lively. I chose subjects that were on hand with little manipulation. I was more interested in my experience and quick color application then police report accuracy. Painting outside with the natural light made the whole process quite exciting to me because of the movement and change of intensity of the light. Each time I was capturing a living moment. The beginning was a mixture of childlike zeal and anticipation to interpret what I see with my brush and paint.  – Laura Grover

More on Seattle Art Fair
Saturday at Seattle Art Fair was nice as I get to see so many artist friends whom I have not seen for so long! Its still pack with gallery goers and I saw more red dots! I get to revisit so of my favorite works of art at Forum Gallery, Adelson and Exhibit 101. For more cutting edge art works, we have drone paintings, clear gel collage figure, cool video art which all challenge the notion of what is art?
Seattle Art Fair
First Seattle Art Fair is here, this Friday thru Sunday at Century link field. Over 50 galleries from all over the world and locally are presenting their trending artists’ works.
High quality works are presented, Kristie, Vikram, Gary B and me went for the opening last night and the venue was packed! I was excited to see works by Collins and Asseal represented there. Amazing realism figurative works are making a come back, in NY mostly 😛 Also there were a couple Andrew Wythe paintings! The painting with light crack thru is pretty awesome too! You have to go see it yourself!
THANK YOU, EAC artists community!!
I am making a commitment to post more on EAC studio blog so as to initiate some discussion related to art and creativity. Over the last couple months, though I have not been posting much, I have done a lot of thinking about the nature of what we do, art and everything around it. I have to stress that I am very thankful for the art community and support we have at EAC. I come to a new understanding as to why community is so important to artists, or musicians or any creative minds. It keeps us moving and feel connected! So let me give a big THANK YOU here to all of you who came to paint and draw at EAC, who read this blog, who came for the model sessions or book club or simply come enjoy the shows we put up. Thank you, Thank you!
